UNASA’s overarching objective is to promote respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for the population in South Africa with a particular focus on bringing the voices of disadvantaged and marginalised communities, women, and young people to the UN.
Our main objectives are:
1) To raise awareness of and advocate for human rights and sustainable development at a community and government level, and among our chapter members
2) To build strong civil society partnerships with NGOs and disadvantaged communities
3) To educate youth about international issues, the work of the UN, and their rights through the Model United Nations programme
4) To maintain organisational integrity through respectful work collaborations and an inclusive office environment
