The United Nations Association South Africa (UNASA) was re-established on United Nations Day, October 24, and the inaugural General Assembly meeting was held on November 26, 2003 at the University of the Western Cape. UNA-SA is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental organisation established in accordance with the Non-profit Organisations Act of 1997. UNASA is an affiliate of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) situated in the UN Plaza Building, New York City, USA.
